Our Philosophy

We believe that by helping you increase self-awareness and acceptance, we can assist you in identifying and overcoming behavioral, emotional, or thought patterns that may be holding you back. Together with our advanced trainings, compassionate, and down-to-earth approach we can help you find you inner wisdom, your innate strengths, gain clarity on who you are, and get to know all aspects of yourself, even the parts that sometimes you may label as “bad”.  As Dr. Dick Schwartz says in his book on IFS therapy, “there are no bad parts”.  Every part of you has a reason for doing what it does. Our job is to help you understand and get to know all the parts or aspects of yourself, in a non-shaming, non-pathologizing way. If you desire, we can help you to unburden and heal the parts of you that need this release and tap into your innate wisdom, something we are all born with, but often lose through stress, trauma, adversity, or just plain ole life! 

Our guiding principle is “Meet the client where they are at” which means we will collaborate with you on developing treatment goals that are client driven. We will always be prepared for YOUR specific session, so don’t worry that you need to know what to do. That’s what we are here for.  Also, we have all sat in the client seat, so we know first hand about the courage it takes to step into this space and do the work!

DBT Skills Groups

Our DBT Skills groups are structured as educational classes teaching essential life skills, including: Mindfulness, Emotion Regulation, Interpersonal Effectiveness, & Distress Tolerance.
